This course is managed by the Crime Records Service (CRS) of Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the initial certification expires after two years, so users must retest on-line every two years. This training covers all operating procedures, coding, and message formats and system management responsibilities for TLETS/NLETS. The Texas Department of Public Safety – Crime Records Service requires that there must be at least one classroom-trained TLETS operator per shift. This training must be done within six months…

This Course is designed for operators who perform NCIC/TCIC functions at any level lower than full access. Generally, this pertains to inquiry only, including mobile data terminal (MDT) or notebook computer users. Operators must receive this training within the first six months of assignment or employment. In order to comply with federal requirements, operators must recertify within two years of certification or most recent recertification date.
